Description
The Wolturnus Roadrunner is a robust and lightweight framerunner designed to empower individuals with disabilities to run independently. Specifically tailored for framerunning—an athletic discipline catering to those with conditions like cerebral palsy or other neuromuscular disorders—the Roadrunner offers height adjustability and stability for both young people and adults.
With a maximum user weight capacity of 120 kg, the saddle height can vary between 70 and 95 cm from the surface, depending on the wheel size. Despite its sturdy construction, the ultra-lightweight frame weighs a mere 3.5 kg. When fully assembled with wheels, saddle, breastplate, and handlebar, the total weight of the Roadrunner amounts to just 12.5 kg.
Frame Stability and Design:
The Wolturnus Roadrunner is crafted from heat-treated 7020 lightweight aluminum, ensuring a rigid and robust frame. This material choice makes the Roadrunner one of the lightest models in the sport of Framerunning. The stable and rigid frame facilitates optimal energy transfer of the athlete’s forces for forward propulsion. Additionally, the streamlined design not only provides a modern aesthetic but also minimises wind resistance.
Wheel Sizes of Wolturnus Roadrunner:
The Roadrunner is offered in one size, but its adaptability shines through its ability to accommodate different wheel sizes based on user height preferences. This feature makes the Roadrunner suitable for users as they transition from youth to adulthood. Equipped with a standard disc brake on the front wheel, changing the wheel size is effortless and does not require adjustments to other components. The Roadrunner offers wheels in three sizes: 22”, 24”, or 26”.
Driving Characteristics and Equipment:
The Roadrunner comes equipped with a high-grade compensator for the handlebar, enabling adjustment of resistance during turns. This feature enhances bicycle stability, ensuring the front wheel maintains a straight trajectory. With a steering angle of 55 degrees, the Roadrunner exhibits enhanced directional stability, reducing the risk of crashes and effectively managing involuntary movements at higher speeds. The Roadrunner’s adaptability to individual user needs is facilitated by the multi-adjustable saddle and chest support, offering height, depth, and angle adjustments, as well as a handlebar that is height and depth adjustable. Additionally, users can choose between a push or pull parking brake based on their preferences. For optimal comfort and safety during runs, we recommend installing one or two Bodypoint Monoflex belts on the Roadrunner’s breastplate.
